Pretoria – Capetonians can expect to wake up to partly cloudy weather today -- the day of the State of the Nation Address (SONA) -- which might possibly be followed by a 30% chance of light rain in the evening.
Forecaster at the Cape Town Weather Office, Stella Nake, says low temperatures are expected at 16 degrees Celsius in the Mother City this morning, and the temperature will rise to 24 degrees during the day, with a moderate southerly wind.
“An Atlantic high pressure system extends its ridge to the east during the course of Thursday afternoon, resulting in moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly winds (25 - 35km/h) subsiding overnight to 10km/h,” said Nake.
President Jacob Zuma will deliver the SONA at 7pm in Parliament, Cape Town.
During SONA, President Zuma will table government’s plans for the year 2015, unpacking key areas of government’s Programme of Action to keep the citizens informed. - SAnews.gov.za
