Pretoria – Defence and Military Veterans Deputy Minister, Thabang Makwetla, is today expected to visit soldiers wounded in the Central African Republic (CAR) during clashes with the rebels over the past weekend.
The wounded soldiers are being treated at 1 Military Hospital in Thaba Tshwane.
Makwetla’s spokesperson Ntime Skhosana said the deputy minister wished them a speedy recovery.
“He is also going to assure them of the necessary support they may need,” he said.
Twenty-seven soldiers were wounded during the clashes, which left 13 soldiers dead.
The remains of the fallen soldiers arrived in the country on Tuesday.
The department is later today expected to hold a ceremony to receive the remains. – SAnews.gov.za
