Mangaung- The Mangaung Local Municipality celebrated 30 Days to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in style on Tuesday.

The celebrations were a way to instil, ignite and embrace patriotism and to encourage communities to support Bafana Bafana during the month-long tournament.

Zakumi, the official World Cup mascot, bike rides, a Siwelele band truck tour around the city and diski dancers entertained the crowd at Clive Solomon Stadium in Bloemfontein.

According to George Mohlakoane, CEO of Mangaung 2010, the city is ready for the tournament.

"One has to appreciate that when it comes to the look and feel of the city, work has been done," he said.

Mohlakoane said the municipality is extremely happy with the progress made in preparation for the tournament. He added that branding is not only the city's responsibility but everyone's responsibility. He encouraged individuals to fly the South African flag high by carrying symbols that show their support for Bafana during the tournament.
