Matrics to sit for History today

Pretoria - Matrics will write their first History paper today, as the year's final examinations get into full swing.

The learners will sit for a three-hour History Paper 1 at 9am.

Other papers being written in the morning session is Maritime Economics and Equine Studies, while papers scheduled for the afternoon session at 2pm include the language subjects Arabic, French, Italian and Spanish.

Most matrics will write their first exam on Thursday - an Afrikaans paper.

In total, 198 papers will be written in 39 subjects during the six-week long exam period by about 642 000 students.
