Mafikeng - North West Premier Maureen Modiselle will visit international soccer fans in the United Kingdom and Spain to market the province ahead of the 2010 spectacular.

Modiselle, who will leave on Saturday, said the visit will be used as a marketing campaign to promote the province as an attractive and viable destination for fans and tourists.

"We are going to these countries to do rigorous marketing campaigns which will include media briefings and interview sessions," she said.

The English team, the premier said, has chosen Rustenburg as its base during the World Cup, reiterating that the province was ready to welcome them to the Platinum City.

"We were further honoured when the Spanish set their sights on Potschefstroom as home base for the team and its throng of fans and followers.

"The Tlokwe City Council authorities have worked tirelessly to ensure the Spanish receive a pleasant and unforgettable experience," she said.

While overseas, Modiselle said they will also explore mutually beneficial relationships during and after the World Cup between relevant provincial authorities in Spain and distribute information about leisure and entertainment facilities and tour operators.
