Nigerian Pastor Timothy Omotoso and his two co-accused are back in the High Court in Port Elizabeth this morning.
The pastor, who is the leader of the Jesus Dominion International Church, and his two co-accused Zukiswa Sitho and Lusanda Solani, are facing 97 charges.
These include 63 charges in the main charge sheet, and 34 alternative charges for racketeering activities, sexual assault and rape at the church.
Last week, Cheryl Zondi took the stand to give a harrowing testimony of how Omotoso groomed and raped her since she was 14 years old.
She has been hailed as an inspiration to millions of young women, who have broken the silence on sexual harassment.
The court will in the meantime continue with the second witness. Protests in support of the young victims are expected outside court.
Meanwhile, the Minister in the Presidency Responsible for Women, Bathabile Dlamini, will today at 1pm brief the media on the Omotoso trial.
The Minister will be joined by representatives of the Ministry of Justice; the Portfolio Committee on Women in the Presidency; the Cultural, Religious, and Linguistic Rights Commission; the Commission for Gender Equality; the Soul City Institute; musicians, as well as gender activists. - SAnews.gov.za
