Pretoria - Home Affairs Minister Naledi Pandor and her deputy Fatima Chohan will visit hospitals in Cape Town and Johannesburg on New Year's Day as part of the department's birth registration campaign.
Pandor will visit the Bonteheuwel Maternity Unit in Cape Town at 8am, while Chohan will visit the Charlotte Maxeke hospital at 10:30am and the Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital in Coronationville at midday.
"The purpose of the visits is to promote birth registration and highlight the importance of registering the birth of the newly born children within 30 days of their delivery in line with the Department of Home Affairs' National Population Registration (NPR) campaign," said the department. -SAnews.gov.za
