Pretoria - The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has issued a statement informing residents in Kwa-Thema that there will be a planned electricity shutdown in the entire area on Thursday.
The shutdown will be from 7am to 5pm and will be carried out by Eskom to ensure necessary repairs to electrical equipment.
"We would like to apologise to the residents for the inconvenience this will cause especially because the shutdown will happen just a day after the re-opening of schools," said the metro's spokesperson Justice Mohale.
"Business people will also be affected but we want to assure all affected that the repairs are very necessary for us to continue to deliver reliable power supply," he said.
