Prayer service for matrics

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Pretoria - As grade 12 learners countdown to the final examinations, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will at the weekend attend a prayer service for learners in Bloemfontein.

Motshekga, Free State Premier Ace Magashule and provincial MECs will on Sunday join the congregation and about 2 500 matrics at St John's Methodist Church.

Members of the provincial legislature, trade unions, school governing bodies and organisations representing learners will also attend.

The prayer service seeks to motivate and encourage learners to do their best and obtain excellent results in what is generally considered the most exams of the schooling career.

More than 635 000 learners have registered to sit for this year's National Senior Certificate exams to start on 25 October 2010.
