Pretoria - The Presidency says the report of the Public Protector regarding Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister, Tina Joemat-Pettersson, is being processed.
A week ago, Public Protector Thuli Madonsela said President Jacob Zuma should consider reprimanding Joemat-Pettersson for the reckless use of public funds during her lengthy stays at expensive hotels and guesthouses.
Presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj said the Presidency had noted some media reports, including one alleging that the minister returned earlier from Sweden at the request of the Presidency in order to assist with plans for the President's private wedding ceremony in 2009.
He said the Presidency was not aware of the said request.
"We urge that space be allowed for proper processing of the report and for the minister to be given the opportunity to respond to the President on the entire report.
