Pretoria - While in the Eastern Cape to launch 49 new schools in the province, President Jacob Zuma paid former President Nelson Mandela a visit at his residence in Qunu, last night.
The President was yesterday in Libode in the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality to launch new schools. Government is replacing 49 mud schools with modern state of the art schools to improve learning and teaching as part of the massive infrastructure roll-out plan.
"It is always wonderful to spend time with Madiba; I was able to update him on what is happening in the country. It is wonderful to find him in good spirits and so relaxed. I assured him of the love of all South Africans," said Zuma of the visit.
He added that Madiba was "in very good health and comfortable. And he looks as handsome as ever".
