Pretoria - The Public Service Commission (PSC) says Minister Collins Chabane played an instrumental role in transforming the South African public service.
Public Service and Administration Minister Chabane passed away on Sunday with two of his protectors in a car accident on the N1.
The PSC interacted with Minister Chabane when he was MEC for Economic Development in Limpopo and when he was Minister of Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation as well as in his capacity as Public Service and Administration Minister.
The PSC on Tuesday said the public sector must keep Minister Chabane’s vision of promoting good governance alive.
“In memory of the late Minister Chabane, the PSC will continue to contribute towards building a capable and developmental public service,” said PSC Deputy Chairperson Advocate Richard Sizani.
Minister Chabane will be laid to rest in an official funeral ceremony in his home village of Xikundu in Limpopo on Saturday.
