It’s the end of the road for two suspects involved in rhino poaching following a two-year joint investigation operation by SANParks Environmental Crime Intelligence and the Hawks.
The South African National Parks (SANParks) and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (Hawks) on Tuesday announced the arrest of two suspects in Gauteng for the alleged dealing in rhino horn.
Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa has congratulated the investigating team on the breakthrough.
“We are very proud of the diligent investigative effort done by this team, this indicates the importance of cooperation in solving complex crime like rhino poaching. These arrests will hopefully lead to more arrests and convictions,” Molewa said.
