Pretoria - The South African government is investigating the authenticity of the alleged South African passport used by a British national suspected of being involved in the recent Kenyan terrorist attacks.

The Department of Home Affairs said it will be liaising with the relevant local and international law enforcement agencies as part of the investigation.

"Upon concluding its investigation, the government will advise of the outcome of the investigation. We reiterate our conviction that our passports are safe and secure," the department said.
