Pretoria - South African Airways (SAA) has temporarily suspended flights to Blantyre, Malawi.

“SAA advises customers of the closure of the airport in Blantyre, Malawi due to urgent runway repairs and maintenance,” said SAA on Wednesday.

Accordingly, the airline has suspended its flights to Blantyre for the duration of the time that the airport will be closed by the Malawian aviation authorities.

The airline is offering several options to customers. Among the options is that customers who no longer want to travel to Blantyre will be fully refunded and customers wishing to travel to/from Blantyre on SAA’s service and who elect to make their own way to/from Blantyre can do so at their own cost.

Customers who wish to postpone their trip can also be rebooked once the airport is opened. - SAnews.gov.za
