Shosholoza Meyl to transport soccer fans to Bloemfontein

Pretoria - Soccer fans travelling to the Bafana Bafana and France game tomorrow in Bloemfontein can see a different side of the country by using the Shosholoza Meyl.

The long-distance trains will depart from Johannesburg's Park Station in the morning from Platform 13 at 06:00 arriving in Bloemfontein at approximately 13:00 on the same day of the game. Busses will transport passengers to the stadium.

Passengers can choose one of two packages; the Tourist Class (R350 (Return), which can accommodate four people per cabin and offers sleeping accommodation, dining cars, communal showers and rest rooms, excluding bedding, meals and drinks, all of which can be purchased on board.

The Premier Class, at a cost of R1 200 (Return) offers plasma screens in the lounges, smokers and non-smokers lounge fine cuisine with award winning wines, crisp linen and robes, three meals a day and sleeps two people per cabin.

The train journey is seven hours to and from the game and will allow passengers to relax and enjoy the train ride and scenery.

After the game, passengers will return to the train where they can enjoy dinner and a seven-hour journey back to Johannesburg station.

The train will depart approximately three hours after the end of the game.

The train package does not include World Cup tickets.
