Pretoria - Minister of Public Service and Administration Lindiwe Sisulu has reiterated government's commitment to finalising wage negotiations with labour unions as soon as possible and has called for an urgent meeting with all parties.
"We remain committed to finding a solution as soon as possible. We are negotiating a multi-year agreement within very limited resources, it can be frustrating at times," Sisulu said.
The minister added that government was close to a settlement and it was in the best interest of all parties to remain in the Public Service Coordination Bargaining Council to search for a solution together.
COSATU and its affiliated unions SADTU, NEHAWU, POPCRU, DENOSA, PAWUSA, SAMA, SADNU and SASAWU had met with government yesterday afternoon to iron out an agreement.
