Sun expected to shine for opening Confeds Cup match

Johannesburg - Soccer fans can expect mild and sunny weather tomorrow for the opening FIFA Confederations Cup match at Coca Cola Park in Johannesburg.

Earlier in the week the Gauteng province experienced wet and cold conditions and many fans and organisers were beginning to fear that the weather would spoil the enthralling opening ceremony which is planned ahead of the Bafana Bafana/Iraq match.

However, the South African Weather Services is predicting a maximum of 19 Degrees Celsius tomorrow and no rainfall has been forecast.

While temperatures will be slightly warmer than in the beginning of the week, people attending the match are urged to still wrap up warmly.

The opening ceremony is expected to begin at 2.30pm and the match will kick off at 4pm. Ticket holders are advised to be at the stadium from 1pm.
