Pretoria - Telkom is working to fix telephone lines that went down in some parts of Pretoria, it said on Friday.
"A technical failure at Telkom's exchange in Pretoria central has had an impact on some customers in the city and some surrounding areas. While all callers are able to make and receive calls within the 012 dialling area, some are not able to make calls to or receive calls from outside this area," said the telecommunications company.
The company and its technology supplier were working to correct the fault.
"Telkom apologises for the inconvenience this technical failure has caused our customers and assures them that we are doing everything possible to restore services as soon as possible," it said.
