Pretoria - More than 1000 Pretoria residents will have an opportunity to test their eyes, as well as other conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, as the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development embarks on an eye care campaign this week.
The health screenings form part of commemorations for World Sight Day. The day serves as an occasion to raise awareness on eye conditions and the importance of eye health and care.
The department plans to strengthen their campaign of educating people about the importance of taking care of their eyes throughout the month.
MEC Qedani Mahlangu will also witness a cataract surgery.
