Musina - School leavers have until Wednesday to apply for study bursaries at the Musina local municipality in Limpopo.
Last year, 59 bursaries were awarded to local students, said municipal spokesperson Wilson Dzebu.
He said the students' must be able to prove that their parents are rate payers who have lived in Musina for at least 18 months.
"Their application forms must be accompanied by water and electricity accounts, certified copies of IDs and proof of acceptance of registration from the tertiary institution," he said.
Wednesday is also the deadline to nominate deserving organisations or individuals for the Musina Local Municipality Mayoral Awards.
Musina Mayor Caroline Mahasela will host the awards on 14 January, when she will recognise those who went beyond the call of duty to build the communities in which they live.
The award categories include community builder of the year, best artistic group or individual, best sports personality, best emerging entrepreneurs and best non-governmental organisation.
There will also be a merit award for agriculture and leadership, as well as awards for the best early childhood centre, excellence in community media, best high school learners and best Musina communicator of the year.
Nominations forms for the awards and bursary application forms are available at the main municipal offices in Musina as well as the Nancefield, Madimbo, Malale and Mopane satellite offices.
